SPECIAL ADVISORY – CANS OFFICE CLOSURE: Monday, March 16

Posted on March 16, 2020 by News

In light of the growing outbreak of COVID-19, CANS is taking proactive measures to reduce the spread of the virus in our area. Out of an abundance of caution – CANS offices (Burnside and Sydney) closed today, Monday, March 16, 2020, at 12:00 PM (noon).

Safety is of the utmost importance to CANS. Our goal is to maintain a safe environment for both CANS staff, members and visitors to our office. We have been monitoring the outbreak for some time and have prepared as best we can to work remotely. That said, this global pandemic marks new territory for all of us. Please understand that there may be delays in CANS services during this time, but we are doing all that we can to keep any issues to a minimum.

How will this impact CANS Services?

During this time, CANS office — including access to CANS Business Centre — will remain closed to all CANS staff, members and guests. Please note that CANS staff WILL be working remotely and all digital services (ie: tender library) will remain active.

CANS Education courses planned for this time period are postponed until a later date. Registered learners will be contacted by CANS staff with next steps. In the meantime, if you have any questions related to the affected courses, please contact: Chantal Arsenault, Manager, Education & Training Development at (902) 817-6246.

CANS printing services, Commissions of Oaths Services, as well as CCDC & CCA Document sales will be suspending during this closure.

Where can I find updates as the situation progresses?

For the time being, our office will remain closed until Friday, March 20, 2020, at which point we will be reevaluating the situation. Any extension to this closure will communicated before the end of that business day via CANS website and social media networks (Twitter & LinkedIn)
