Memorial Project Underway in Honour of Emily Tuck
On April 18 and 19, 2020, we were rocked by the news of a mass shooting in Portapique, a small community in Nova Scotia. As the one-year anniversary of this horrific event approaches, our thoughts remain with all of the families and communities impacted by this senseless tragedy.
Emily Tuck was among those killed. She participated in CANS Building Futures for Youth program as a grade 11 in 2019 and was particularly interested in welding. She completed her summer work placement with Global Construction Maritimes.
In honour of Emily’s memory, Global Construction Maritimes is leading a project to build a gazebo at Emily’s former school, Cobequid Educational Centre. While they have received support from various community partners, they are still looking for either monetary donations or materials to assist with the build. If you have the ability to support this initiative, please contact Carly Blois at Global Construction Maritimes: 902-662-2889 or email@example.com
