Good morning CANS members.
First off, I would like to thank you for your continued support and confidence in CANS.
As you are well aware, the current pandemic is evolving daily. With this in mind, our board of directors and management are carefully monitoring and proactively planning to ensure that we do our part to limit the spread of the virus. To this end, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s De-Icer, which had been planned for April 24, 2020. This decision was not reached easily as we considered the reputational, safety and financial risks of cancelling, postponing or continuing with the event.
This annual event has become a tradition and has grown every year to become one of the largest events of its kind in Canada. Through the commitment of staff, volunteers, attendees and our sponsors, we have been able to build and deliver an exceptional experience. The De-Icer will return in the spring of 2021 and we look forward to your enthusiastic involvement.
We will continue to monitor and evaluate our operational activities. Currently, all other CANS programs, events, operations and education will proceed as planned. As this situation continues to evolve, we will update you on any changes in our planned activities.
Please note, if you have already registered for this event CANS staff will be in touch shortly with the next steps.
Thank you again for your continued investment in your association!
